Care Instructions
-
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
•Healthy hydrated skin is best to tattoo, exfoliating the area and using lotion a week leading up can help to prepare the area , especially if it’s an area like elbow or knee
•Don’t drink alcohol the day before, it will thin your blood and may cause more pain
•Eat well and drink plenty of water leading up to the appointment
•Get a good nights rest
DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT:
•Eat a well balanced meal approximately 2 hours before your appointment. Low blood sugar can cause faintness and or dizziness. Continue to stay well hydrated
•Don’t consume any drugs or alcohol , it is illegal to tattoo anyone under the influence and will make the process more difficult
•Be clean and wear loose clothing . Make sure we can easily access the area to be tattooed. Ink may get on your clothes, so wear something you don’t mind staining
•Be relaxed and continue to breathe, being tense will make you twitch more and can make it much longer more painful.

• After cleaning and drying the tattoo apply a THIN layer of aquaphor ointment for the first 3 days , then switch to a water based lotion with no scents or dyes (Curel or Lubriderm work well)
